Day 29: Favourite battle: the Skirmish above Raydonia.

When I first heard that Darth Maul was returning to Star Wars after all these years, I was really worried that his new robot legs were going to impair his awesome gymnastic abilities… Well it’s safe to say they didn’t.

This is my favourite fight (so far) because well look at it! Darth Maul vs Obi wan vs Savage Opress vs Asajj Ventress? Kenobi and Ventress have been fighting for all of the Clone Wars so far and then all of a sudden, OH OH OH THEY’RE WORKING TOGETHER NOW??! And you get to see Obi Wan with a red lightsaber I mean it’s just so out of place but it works!

By the bye I’m really loving Ventress’ story right now, she’s turned in to like a space Frankenstein, she’s created this monster but it’s turned on her and now she’s regretting what she’s done so she does anything she can to bring the monster down. To begin with when Ventress was first introduced I wasn’t that big of a fan because she really just seemed like a pawn Dooku’s affairs and nothing more but now that she’s a bounty hunter I can’t get enough of it.

And Darth Maul’s fighting in this particular Skirmish is fantastic because he messes with Obi Wan psychologically; trying to unbalance him using old memories and show him how great the dark side is. Argh that sexy, sneaky fuck-master!! And while I’m on the topic of Maul isn’t it great how well spoken he is for a tattooed, yellow eyed, dark side using horned demon man? It just goes to show that anyone can be well spoken. Interestingly enough though if you listen closely he does growl and bark a lot during the fight against Obi Wan and when leaping at Ventress.

And finally, Savages lightsaber… It makes a different noise from everyone else’s!

For anyone still bitching about how “Darth Maul can’t be back, he died! It’s non cannon!!”, people have survived worse things in Star Wars than simply being cut in half and falling a mere 200 feet.

In addition, the Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

Darth Maul looks much much older here in comparison to his other clone wars appearance, could his new youth and robot legs be something to do with the Nightsisters or are they 2 seperate people and one of them a clone of Maul?
